What is the halftime of $/dpi for screens? Assuming the same display size, technology, quality etc. of course.
Pic related, it's a 65" 4k oled tv I crave for, uh, coding but don't have the 4600€ for.

>65" 4k oled tv
The LG 65" 4k is like $4-5k but the 55" is only $2,500.
If you dont NEED 65" a 55" is much cheaper and still OLED 4k HDR.

I just picked the most awesome one, can't afford anything 4k oled since the cheapest one I found is 1650€.
So the question is twofold:
1. When will I be able to afford it
2. When will we max out (equivalent of retina quality considering the higher distance, perfect black meaning oled, "huge" size)
My interest is actually as a programmer first and gamer second. At least this is what I tell myself.

Then you shouldn't be looking at 4k OLED TVs at all, they have input lag on the order of 50-75ms

I assume you are referring to the gamer part. Luckily I am a filthy casual and the games I'll be playing will be rpgs and grand strategy - only maybe for the souls-esque ones I might need less lag.
But as I said, programming first. Is less lag beneficial here?
Also, did I forget something to look at? My factors are dpi, size and contrast.

look at actual 4k monitors. Dell has a 43" IPS, they also have the UP3017Q which is a 30" 4k 120hz OLED (but it hasn't actually released for sale yet)
You'll be waiting a few years for OLED monitors to be under $3-4k though.
OLED is trash for gaming. Movies only. 4K is good for a "programming setup" for much cheaper. You don't even get the majority of modern OLED 4K benfits unless you use a new uhd blu ray player and all that shit.
Ok then.
Can /g/ recommend instead a 4k monitor with low bezel? Aiming at gradually building a ppp setup with 30"-40" each.
Oled still needs a generation or two to
>become more affordable
>work out some of the kinks that are still a problem with modern panels

The two phillips 4k monitors they make one is discontinued and the other is out of stock everywhere.
