Can anyone tell me why my ram is at such a low Mhz value? It

Can anyone tell me why my ram is at such a low Mhz value? It should be at 1333Mhz.

Thanks!

You have dual channel
679*2 = 1358
>>
>>57142984
Oh, so that's what it is.

Thanks, learn something new everyday!

>You have dual channel
That has nothing to do with it.

The actual frequency the RAM chips run at is HALF of the DDR speed because DDR is DOUBLE data rate, essentially it works on the up and down frequency doubling the actual frequency.

Pisses me off when people spread this misinformation, I have quad channel and mine is still 1/2 of the actual speed because it has nothing to do with double or triple or quad channel, and everything to do with the actual frequency of the memory.

Fuck you're right.
Sorry for spreading misinformation
>>
>>57143032
shame those temps are fucking terrible.
jesus wept buy some cooling

DOUBLE data rate

>>57143956
...that's light gaming load, notice the GPU load.

CPU is barely stretching it's feet though, only like 30-40% use there.

>having 3200mhz ram
is it even worth it at such sloooow timings?
what are you doing that requires such high bandwidth yet such low response times?
>32gb
i hope it's ecc anon.

You don't know how RAM works if you're being this retarded

Latency is a function of frequency AND timings, they're related.

For example:
DDR3 1333MHz CAS9 has a latency of 13.50 ns

DDR4 3200MHz CAS18 has a latency of 11.27 ns

Timings AND frequency are linked directly to your effective latency.

Still runs in dual channel, mong
>>
>>57147835
What are you talking about? Quad channel doesn't run in dual channel mode...
>>
>>57147860
4 slots = 2 dual channel
>>
>>57147923
It's quad channel consumer pleb
>>
>>57147954
No, it's still dual. Even if you have 8 slots, it's running in dual
>>
>>57148187
That's because you're stuck in consumer land. Here in lovely socket Sandy Bridge-EP land, you can have quad channel memory.
>>
>>57147835
i know you're a troll, but for anyone curious:

DDR = double data rate 1600MHz ddr3 actually runs at 800MHz, but works on the up and down parts of the cycle effectively doubling the data rate (hence DDR)
dual channel = 2 channels. each channel is 64 bits wide. dual channel is 128 bits wide.

memory bandwidth is affected by both bus width and data rate. 2 channels of DDR3-1333 will have a theoretical peak bandwidth of 21333MB/s ((1333 * 64 * 2)/8) = 21333). if you had 4 channels (all LGA 2011/LGA2011-3 chips support this), you would have up to 42666MB/s.

there are also two different ways ram is commonly labeled. for desktop systems, DDR3-1333 is the same as PC3-10666U.

4 slots of 8 slots on a 2011-3 with a 5820k means it's running in quad channel.

Here is my 5820k and quad channel DDR4 doing ~55,000MB/s read speeds.

You seem very knowledgeable on the topic. On my system pic related, what should be the access time for those RAM? Thanks for your time.

somewhere around 60ns.
>>
>>57149799
How did you test memory bandwidth?
