This, I did it to my 5.5gen and it was relatively easy.

Just one piece of advice if you're using Rockbox on it, before loading music or really before connecting it to your computer, boot into the normal apple OS, or else your files will become corrupted.
I learned this the hard way.

Do you seriously put every song on yours? Like let's say you have the Shania Twain Come on Over album. Awesome! Like every song is good. Then you go to I don't know maybe Jewel Spirit and you know maybe three songs are worth it. In the end you are left with hundreds of songs not worth listening too.
