C, C++, Java or Python?
python if you want to make deadlines
Java/c++ for a job
C for competence
Python for leisure programming
>>57129351
is there a performance difference between C and C++ with OpenCV?
>>57129378
probably not
>>57129350
This, had to do a simple script and Python was the thing to make it simple.
And the rest of the program was in Python anyway
>>57129973
alright, ill look into using python for simplicity's sake
How does Python run compared to C and C++ on a raspberry pi?
I remember having a college class with C++ opencv. it was fun.
>>57130000
python is very slow, but the openCV part is really running in C even when you use python
so if mostly you are doing openCV calls, the runtime shouldn't be too different from C or C++
fyi
python allows modules to be written in C and then python can call the modules using their standard api. This lets people write things like openCV in performative languages like C, and then only use python as glue
>>57130154
thats quite neat actually
>>57129338
All of the interfaces are garbage. I've used them all.
>>57130154
That's amazing
>>57130179
probably you who's garbage then
C++ worked great for my purposes
python is the best.
if you disagree you're an edgelord
>>57130255
python has its place
i still perfer c++ for my larger projects, but it is hard to argue with the ease of tkinter for simple GUIs
but tkinter really kills me when i do little tricky things
>>57130154
>python is very slow
How? is it because it's an interpret language?
>>57132170
No, but because its semantics are garbage.
Turns out, making stuff more dynamic than JS isn't such a good idea.
>>57130154
Any language allows this actually.
Using OpenCV for python now. It takes forever to download on smaller systems. Downloaded this with AruCO to the raspberry pi. Had the system up and running in 10 hours (Yes, it really takes that long). Use python. If you don't you're ironic meme programming.
