One of the cool features of linux is terminal stuff (mac has those too but not as deeply integrated as linux). Your terminal can use different shells (or different ways to interact with a terminal) such as Bash (default), Zsh, etc. Each of these have a configuration file (.bashrc for Bash, .zshrc for Zsh), there are other configuration files but these are the ones one normally intervenes.

All the other stuff i said (rclone, cron, unity tweak) are things you can google and are better explained than what i could do here.

2. If your card is not an amd card install the proprietary drivers.(ubuntu users can use something named additional drivers)
3. Install gdebi from the store or terminal(sudo apt install gdebi). That is a graphical installer for debian packages kinda like windows .exe installers
