How often do you upgrade your technology?
>>57123794
When it cannot be repaired or can no longer fulfil its purpose.
Whenever it breaks.
Which is basically never.
My computer is 8 years old.

when i lose my erection
Whenever I feel like it
whenever my wife breaks hers
when it no longer coincides with my needs, or something better comes along, that is so much better, i can immediately notice the difference, without doing some horseshit A/B comparison to highlight the single pixel per second of performance.
when i buy a new one, usually
My MSI GE62 is going to die soon if I keep using it, so I'm going to buy an Asus G752.

This. As long as it just werks for what I need it for, I see no reason to replace it with something just because it's newer. I'd rather save the money for something else.
PC every 5 years, keep last one as backup
Mobile every 3 years, still got old ones that work as backup also
TV/projector/display every 5 years usually with the PC, old one gets out away or moved to unused room
And the modem / router when it stops working, which has been about every 3-4 years (I'm cheap on this). If anyone could advise on an NBN ready router that'll last 5+ years and not cost $500 please speak up
Whenever my welfare check comes in.

When the newest AAA game gives me 15 fps
whenever
Desktop rig every 5 years... A $400 - 500 build seems to last me that long
About to upgrade my system this year, athlon 640 this still marching on with a 6670
1050 ti looks good
Once per year for mobile. I find technology to be enjoyable and I appreciate exploring new devices and features.

When something 2x better appears and drops in the price.
- phone every year, I have a plan that allows yearly upgrades
-Computer once every four years
-Tablet whenever I break it
-I don't have a laptop because I have a tablet
-home theatre projector whenever the bulbs aren't sold anymore
-speakers never because they're Bowers and Wilkins 685s and they sound amazing

this
moving data around is just too tedious
Whenever it's either necessary or has been long enough and I can afford it. Being pretty poor doesn't help much.
when something new comes out and it seems like it's worth the money. i've had my galaxy s5 for a couple years and i don't plan on upgrading it anytime soon, because no new phone is a significantly better "listen to music and dick around on the internet" machine
Mobile, yearly. $100 a year to have the newest with iphones being worth so much on retail.
Laptop, every 2-3 years when something is quite a bit lighter battery improvements etc for how much travel I do. Running X1 Carbon atm.
Desktop every 5. Motherboard went recently, don't think I'll bother rebuilding a $3,000+ machine again and just get a nuc for the back of the monitor now I don't game on it anymore.

Keep it until it breaks, or is too slow to be useful.
When it no longer runs fast enough for its purpose.
For example all I use phones for is texting, navigation with minimal on the road browsing, and hotspotting for whatever notebook I have with me. My Galaxy S4 gets it done and with a Lifeproof battery and case runs long enough for my use. I hardcase phones at purchase and no longer remember what it looks like naked.
Have various PCs, but for browsing and reading manuals I have several Thinkpad T61s dispersed around home and shops. Most run Linux so they'll be good for quite a while. I use external monitors for my main rigs so notebook screen quality for vidya doesn't matter. Matte is win for getting work done.
Many cheap devices are handier then a few expensive units. X200 with dock and spare batteries is my main road computer.
Everything importand gets an SSD because old notebook hard drives are horribly slow.

>My iPhone 5s touchscreen stopped working
Should i get an SE or something else?
>>57125763
>1050 Ti
No, don't, spring for an RX 470 which has much better performance and only a little more expensive.
I feel like this is relevant.
Not often enough, I generally rock whatever I have until its broken then I still wait a while before replacing it.
I should replace my phone but I can't seem to find one worth a shit in a size similar to my gs2.

Just play Doom 2 wads all day and you're good.
PC when it doesn't have the capacity to play whatever latest game at 60 FPS. So I still have 5-10 years left on my machine provided my CPU or DDR3 doesn't become a bottleneck.
Phone never until it becomes absolutely useless... I finally switched my iPhone 3G for a 5C last year and this dud already feels like it's worthless but until it dies i'm sticking with it
I upgrade when i feel the need for it.
Consumerism is for kids and retards.
Shills should all bathe in acid.
