Sometimes. Depends on the model. The fat ones are quiet, the smaller ones are louder than an f-18

It truly surprised me. It's light and fit for daily use.
I opted for the 4GB as I don't use any more than word, xcel or light browsing. A friend of mine got the 8GB and he quite likes it a lot.

Just like I told my mother.

That's it. I have no problem playing games on medium settings which it can do perfectly fine. Like I said I mostly need it for editing the fact that it can game is just a plus and it will be light gaming at best.

I'm looking for something to watch video, do my word/excel shit on and maybe dual boot to fuck around with linux. If it can play 2d games/emulators it's a plus, but I can live without that.

Portability and battery life are somewhat important, since I'll be taking this with me on 1-1.5 hour train commutes. Budget is around 150-200 euro. I don't mind buying secondhand much, though I'm obviously wary.

Any suggestions?

Jesus man, dont get a dell, its like the Clinton of computers with its built in hardware.

for god sake, if You get a dell do not tell anybody 4chan gave You advice, hell never mention us again.

honest, wait till Tuesday through Wedsday, this is when business is slow and You have the best shot at getting a cheep high end AMD computer.
Dell, oh boy do I have stories for You.... DO NOT get a dell, Just dont get a dell unless You just want to fuck around and play video games or something.

Holidays, and slow times, small failing businesses always have sales, dont worry they are almost certainly nigger owned.

and feel free to ignore masses of ignorant thinkpad fags, not that theres something terribly wrong with it
but meh, its stuck in the 2013 spec, screen wise... seriously, and I am not advocating some 4k screen, nope, I mean just quality, brightness of it

What's the most thinkpad'ish modern laptop? In the sense of design and layout. I really like the design of, say, the t520(keyboard, mouseoptions, visually appealing), but I'd like nodern hardware and battery, preferably without frankensteining the entire thing. Modern lenovos are drastically different, not a big fan

Friend needs a laptop for school, needs to be able to do some basic browsing, document writing, and light gaming (meme games like tf2 or duck game). Only thing is he needs space for a shit ton of Dropbox files to be used offline at certain events like debate tournaments. So an actually large hard drive is necessary.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B011KFQASE/ref=psdc_565108_t2_B0088L182C

This seems good enough but I just wanna make sure there isn't anything else better at the same or lower price.

I'm in need of a new laptop.
Need to look fine as fuck, have an audio jack and not have a shitty screen:body ration.
Must have SSD.

Budget is unlimited.
Gold color is not a preference but willing to settle.

Needs to be fast all the time. I'm not going to play games on it, only Excel, Word and the usual business. Might watch some Netflix on it once in a while.

Macbooks are out of the question.

HP 360, Its one hell of a toy, but I feel its exactly that compared to an actual functional computer.

I dunno, If looking good is Your thing then go HP.

Lenovo will not be as flashy as HP but they tend to have better specs compared to HP

ASUS Transformer is something You should atleast look at compared to the 2 Premium options I mentioned.

Odly enough, Dell has almost no complaints and as far as I hear the Ultra thin flexy laptops they make are... I hear are top notch (against my personal opinion) Also Dell is usually the best bang for the buck,...

If You want personal opinion, You know I am biased, I try to keep that part to myself.

I bought a HP omen 15t 5100 CTO witt a 4th gen i7 processor / gtx 960m. I use it for recording/ editing videos, gaming on everything from san andreas to ARK, watching movies and shows, and shitposting on the internet. I have grown to love this computer even though windows 10's bullshit for its capability and portability.

PROS
>light, slim profile (5 lbs i think)
>easily configurable fan speeds, macros, individual lighting regions in full spectrum LED
>1920 x 1080, 15 inch screen
>can to run high end games ( i play ARK on high graphics with sold 30+ frames with razer cortex)
>solid state drive
>decent battery, can play games like autismcraft for an hour and a half or more depending on power settings
>hdmi port, 4 usb ports, sd port, headphone jack

CONS
>no ethernet port
>default drive size 128 gb
>overheats on intensive game ( i have a cooling pad and a cold room so that works for me)
>rear mounted usb and everything else (except sd port on right side.)
>no disk drive
>huge trackpad gets in the way sometimes, and is difficult to play 2 button games with (i use a usb keyboard and mouse most of the time)
>battery is covered and not removable (idk if this is really a con)

that's pretty much all i can think of, got it on sale for 1299$ off from 1799$, is almost exactly a year old and still runs beautifully.
this was the first "expensive" gaming laptop i've bought so i'm wondering how it stacks up to other similar asus/alienware/gigabyte etc laptops.

I'm looking for a laptop for gaming and photo editing. Price isn't an issue, but cheaper is better. Should have a nice keyboard, good screen, and good video card. Also prefer it not be too bulky, and no "look I'm a gamer" rigs.
