He openly stated that Debian has a lot of NSA backdoors.

Every OS does. That's why I don't get freetards. Just because you setup some autistic Archbox that doesn't use Flash, etc, doesn't mean your precious data couldn't be easily retrieved if needed.

If any government wants your data, they're going to get it. I'd much rather let Microsoft know I like traps than get blacklisted because it looks like I'm trying to hide something.
>>

Source for him stating that?

hahaha what
lvm on luks here, good fucking luck
no network services running to be broken into, and can easily be airgapped
>>
>>57115638
Why would it look like I'm trying to hide something?
I run Debian on all of my servers, workstations and laptops. I don't do it because I'm wetting my pants at night about the NSA, I do it because it's the best OS for me.

>No, Julian #Assange did not say that #Debian was owned by the #NSA, but rather that it is easy to backdoor all OSs.

That doesn't mean that Debian DOES have backdoors. Debian's security team is pretty good at what they do and I'm pretty sure they audit regularly.

Tails is probably fine because it's not meant to be installed so everytime you reboot it it's like a brand new system.
>>
>>57115638
>He openly stated that Debian has a lot of NSA backdoors.

He said that if someone lays hands on your un encrypted hard drive you are fucked. Which is true. That is not the same thing as being back doored.

Encrypt your hard drive.
>>
>>57111701
He looks like a GNOME guy (trust me, I can tell what people like the majority of the time just by looking at them), so probably Fedora. It's lightweight, efficient and doesn't look half bad to be honest.
>>
>>57116079

Tails is a live operating system that has tor built in.

Journalists might use it for communication yes but its designed to sit on some type of drive preferably flash and move with you from machine to machine.

Its not going to replace a full operating system like Debian with encryption on drive.
>>
Qubes, Whonix and Tails mainly.

Signal, too, for some private communications.

There's also been some usage of Google Hangouts and Skype for giving public speeches.
>>
None anymore now that he's been killed.

I use Windows in remote meetings because that's what's in the room. Doesn't change the fact that I never use it otherwise.
>>
I don't know what distro he uses...but if I was him. Problably do not use Linux or Windows. I problalby use a real Unix, Freebsd Problably, the portage compile all source and you may define what you want in compile process, very easy to do after set everything for the first time. FreeBSD also do not use LinuxSE which was made from NSA...That should be my choice if I was him...

That OpenBSD is more secure by default than others meme. Seriously speaking NetBSD is secure enought eve4n to the top h4X0r of the world

Mean while for luniks fanboys some source https://cryptome.org/0003/assange-manne.htm

>Assange was nonetheless involved in the development of NetBSD, an open source computer operating system derived from the original Berkeley Software Distribution source code. Some of the slogans he invented to spruik its virtues can still be found on the internet. Here are three. "We put the OS in OrgaSm"; "Bits for Tits"; "More ports than a Norwegian crack whore".

>By the time Assange was working on NetBSD he had been involved for several years with a movement known as the cypherpunks.
>>
here's an interesting (probably stupid) idea:

i'd put several bridged firewalls on different distros and architectures in series, and have them log everything. then you could check for inconsistencies
>>
hahaha, now that I think about it, assange could probably make a living out of logging, debugging, and selling/reporting all the zero-day's they likely blow on him

Debian Developers still are allowed to use 1024-bit DSA keys, so their "security team" sucks ass.
>>
is there a name for that, like "firewall array" or something? I assume a large amount of redundancy would be needed to ensure accurate logging against an advanced adversary
>>
>>57116377
X200? maybe.

He don't use debian and its forks, but he used linux for sure.

Burglars can break into your house if they want so there is no point in having a locked front door.

Thieves can break into your car and steal it if they want so you might as well leave the door open and keys in the ignition.

Someone could poison you, so you might as well poison yourself first.
