I'd believe you if I had this issue with Arch, but it's kind of hard to fuck up something when installing Ubuntu.
The Plex itself ran just fine when streaming, it was just the UI that fucked up.
Either way it works just great now.

1. I have to stay with open source AMD drivers
2. I can't upgrade to a newer kernel without it crashing and taking an hour to shut down

I use Mint instead. I'm loving every second of it though I can't avoid spending time on Win10 because of excel, which is 90% of my work.
