I hate Grub so much. Like, seriously, Linux and GNU have matured way beyond the point where we need to use a command line piece of shit that breaks and flips you off when the tiniest thing goes wrong. There's no reason no one made a better boot loader already.

You mean grub2 is retarted (you install os-prober to find windows partition). In normal grub you just edit 1 file and everthing works.

On distros for babies you have grub customizer.

I love it. I have been using it for years now. I don't use the menu, I just push w for windows and l for linux and if i don't touch, it just boots the last one.
