I've worked on telecommunications equipment inside the CIA headquarters in VA, the NSA headquarters in MD, the Secret Service offices by the White House, and the Pentagon, to name a few. I hope all terrorists are eliminated from the face of the earth. On the other hand, I hope the intelligence community is kept from violating the US Constitution by spying on the general public, and I support Snowden.

We must be different. Usually if you are interested in learning old/new tech or learning new/old languages at home, its a good sign you are not a pajeet or have a pajeet soul that will never make more than what we offer you

Hi there been living in a luddite shithole and actually managed to get a job at the biggest IT firm in the "city". One of our biggest clients into the title business had this shit 90s software that relied on all this archaic garbage that nobody uses anymore but they based their entire business on. When I started we were doing 30-40 calls per day. Owner of both businesses gave me your typical shit schpeal about not changing anything but somehow expected us to fix this. When we would call this software company all I did was watch what they were doing when they remoted in, then later I would automate it with basic programming. I would make sure to wait for the same catastrophe to happen before starting the program so no one would bitch about "your changes". External proprietary software is not covered by our contract so this was a choice that I made. Also these people when problems were happening wouldn't even attempt to print or e-mail because some dumbass in their company started a rumor that their "computers are down" when this happens, and they aren't. Problem actually was when this happens, sometimes MS office would crash if they tried to use the software so they just wouldn't do anything. So I save them over 100 combined hours per month minimum in time that would have been wasted, by literally just teaching them, "save a fucking local copy and print it out". When I left we were sitting at 2-3 calls per day and this is all on a shitty broken down server from 2008 that should have been upgraded years ago. I'm glad we had this interview because you obviously need someone like me. When can I start?

Sounds like you don't know what everyones working in these days: nodejs, mongodb, and starbucks

Thanks for coming, but we're looking for someone with 10 years experience in the aforementioned technologies.
>>
>>57107366
Sorry, we don't think you would be a good fit in our company's culture.

No prob make sure you guys make the thread again when you fail the interview next time like you have been for the past year and a half. /g/ didn't have this thread circa 2014 and some failures must be quite angry they pretended to like some stupid dropout language instead

i wrote software to generate usage statistics on my university's clusters and i've found (and suggested fixes for) numerous errors in software used on a national level for resource sharing

i developed software to generate vector graphics from data, interpreting the data to pick a type of graph and setting the scale and making everything pretty

i install and maintain new nodes on our compute clusters (networking, config, etc)

i deal with object storage and protected health information and security stuff

i wrote software to generate documentation pages on our website and link them to other relevant topics automatically to allow for collaboration

i'm a first-year student and I'm an engineering major
