Let's make a list of interesting and useful Linux software, I'll start:
f.lux:

>>57092135
Typecatcher
>>57092135
>f.lux

Krita, good raster graphics program
https://krita.org/en/download/krita-desktop/

fuck my ass and call me a bitch, now I can truly have a libre system
>>57092344
I'm guessing you are going the the trisquel meme?
Wine
>>57092884
I'm all for the concept behind libre-or-bust. It's just not always practical. Spotify, AFAIK, is the only non-free software I have on my system. Running Memedora with the RPMFusion Free repo and a repo for Spotify.
>>57092135
Livestreamer
MPV
Pinta
>>57092135
ffmpeg
youtube-dl
mpd+ncmpcpp
screenfetch
mpv
Pinta
git
GCC
Sublime Text
Eclipse
cliclocker
Imagemagick
PIP
rsync
Filezilla
WINE
Bomi
Clementine

>lolcat
>>57092911
ah I thought I recognized you from the thread with the guy who put up a trisquel screenfetch for which you commented on about spotify :D
WINE
playonlinux
Redshift is basically a f.lux that's native to Linux. It integrates perfectly with Gnome
i3, ranger, ncmpcpp, mutt, syncthing, zathura, xournal, gummi (for latex), git, ssh, pacman, mpv, youtube-dl, deluge, trackma
>>57094328
>mah nigga
tmux
lm sensor
>nobody has mentioned guake or yakuake yet
Disappointed in you guys desu
Kile
Kate
Owncloud-client
>>57095433
>drop-down terminals
Disappointed in you senpai
>>57095476
I use them to open a full screen terminal with a single key press.
>>57095490
Terminal is a thing that should be always opened.
kolourpaint
gcolor2
>>57093595
no that'd be me, the tripfag
>>57095470
>owncloud
You should consider killing yourself.
>>57095490
>>57095511
>speed test achieved
Ight. I'll take it.
Also: Gimp
Wireshark
>>57092268

How does this do with managing large libraries of songs on a computer? (Like 40k songs large)
I've used a couple of players which would be perfect, aside from seeming to have problems actually indexing libraries that big - songs simply wouldn't appear.
>>57096019
Quod Libet and mpd are good alternatives for large libraries if Tomahawk can't handle them.
>>57094328
i3 ist the Best that happened to me in the last year. Makes working on big screens so fucking efficient
Nice b8 thread. Loonix has no software.
cowsay
>>57096139
Here's your reply.
>>57094328
Preeeetty goood.
Of that list I'm only using i3, ranger, ncmpcpp, git, ssh, pacman, mpv and youtube-dl though. I feel like tmux should also be mentioned, fucking love tmux.
>>57092135
Clementine

libreoffice (specially calc)
>Flux
>Google Chrome
>Steam
>VirtualBox
>Skype
>Spotify
>>57096942
Botnet/10
>>57096960
Enjoy your systemd freefag.
There is literally no way to avoid botnet.
Internet is botnet.
>>57096973
If you think systemd subverts user privacy and anonymity like chrome steam skype or spotify, you deserve to get data mined.
>>57092173
This.
>>57092135
screenfetch
neofetch
archey
>>57092173
>using a shitty clone of flux
>>57097073
>shitty
I've used both and it works great. More control that f.lux.
>>57097073
fuck off with your meme bullshit
why do i want non-free crapware when i can just put redshift in my .xinitrc?
>gay bullshit software to show off your shit specs
KYS faggot.
nobody cares about your cringely riced arch linux setup.
besides, there are plenty of more useful ways to check, look up, and display your system info.
as for screencaps, you're a cocksmoking faggot if you don't use import (ImageMagick)

This seems pretty good. I might spin up a docker instance of it tonight for testing.
slackpkg
slackpkg++
sbopkg
>>57097266
>must have
>vim/emacs
>a web server
>>57097266
>gayming
>>57097334
the bsd games collection is an aesthetic part of unix/computing history. ken thompson made unix so that he could play games. also bsd-games includes such useful "toys" as ciphers, factor, fortune, banner, etc.
>>57097330
not emacs, vim
yes, a light web server. more useful and practical than a lot of this shit in this thread.
TexLive + gummi
its like nobody here does work on their linux box
>>57096869
Whats a good alternative to filezilla?
>>57097496
gftp
