This is another one of those subtle brainwashing techniques used by the slavemasters that either sit in government or at the table of whatever corporation tell the plebs. It's in their interests to coerce a compliant workforce and by extension shame the others that don't enjoy work. It's kinda related to the excuse western governments give about immigrants taking jobs away:
