I picked up last year's flagship phone, the Droid Turbo for 200 bucks.

My wife picked up the Turbo II also (because she got a $300 credit for trading in a dead S6). Both are great phones. My Turbo feels indestructible with the rubber and nylon back and it's really solid. The Turbo II is less of a "throw around" phone, with a slightly bigger screen and shiny metal bezel and faux white leather back, so that's got a case on it (which totally defeats the purpose of a spiffy looking design doesn't it?).

Both have spectacular battery life, especially compared to anything from Samsung.

Personally owned a Galaxy S4. Flimsy as shit, chrome starts chipping away, and then finally conked out after a year and a half.

I would've bought an iPhone if it weren't for their shitty file system. They're quite resilient. My mom's 3GS only needed a battery change and it still works well. I'm using a hand-me-down iPhone 5s at the moment until I can afford a new not-Samsung droid.
