Dead isn't exactly how I would describe it but dying is a pretty accurate term.

The Blockstream Core developers are hell-bent on crippling Bitcoin with a 1MB block size limit. This means that the network's capacity is limited in a way which prevents it from ever growing beyond where it is now. Eventually people will just abandon it and switch to z.cash or xmr or something else.

inb4 someone says it's always had this limit: Sure, but it wasn't a problem when the blocks where half-full. It's only some months since every single block started being full and we got a huge back-log. This has dramatically shifted the fee dynamics and using Bitcoin is now more expensive than every single payment system it competes with.

Saying it like it is makes me a bit sad, I started mining back in 2011 and I still have a .. well, nice.. amount of BTC and I really wish Bitcoin had a future but I just don't see it doing anything more than slowly becoming irrelevant.

bitcoin is and has always been a shorting currency

buy cheap, hoard, wait until it inevitably crashes, short it

it isn't controlled by world banks, so the "currency revolution" never happened as coiners thought. the banks actively opposed its growth as a usable currency; bitcoin was orphaned by the institutions and businesses that it would have served. it didn't reach the community that could sustain its use post the mining period and it has hence started to die out as a viable tool. it'll be around for a while yet, god knows how long, but it's not going to achieve what the coiners had dreamt of.

Bitcoin was a ducking genius plan by the original miners to make assloads of money. I don't think anyone expected it to go up to $1k a coin, but even at $1 a coin the original miners would still be millionaires.

Bitcoin/ ethereum/ other cryptos are going to be the future of out financial system. decentralization and the blockchain networth are very important
>>
>>57065693
Da fuck? The limit is great for Bitcoin. It means Bitcoin will become a stable currency. This is exactly what was supposed to happen.
>>
>>57065693
You just can't see ahead that's all. BTC will be a stable currency, and your BTCs won't gain value past some point. That was the goal on that part but that has nothing to do with what bitcoin is and why it'll change everything.

People don't realize Bitcoin isn't even done yet. People are stupid. It's like way back when people where digging gold.
>we're digging gold
they said
>we're rich now
they said
>we're gonna dig until there's no more
they said
>then gold will be dead and we'll sell it all.

And this is supposed to be a technology board.

Bitcoin is not about the value of bitcoin.

I'll let you sleep on that one.
>>
>>57067698

wow real deep man

I know what it's about, it's about changing your dollars into bitcoins, paying for crimes, then getting changed back into dollars.

The exchange rate is irrelevant as long as it does not move around too much in the 5mins it takes to pay your bookie or dealer or whatever
