Are mousepads necessary?
If your mouse requires it or you don't have a good surface to work with.

I have a trackball.

Yes my wrist would hurt dragging it across a wooden desk all day while I'm gaymen. But ya it always is nice to rest your wrists on something comfy and soft when typing.

If you don't want to replace the feet on your mice every 12 minutes.
Uh, yeah. Especially if running at higher sensitivity where rough surfaces can make it unpleasant to use your mouse. Gaming mouse pads are meme tho

Extended mouse pads which keeps your keyboard from moving and gives you a soft surface on your desk. Not restricted to vidya games anyone can use them and I play on a low dpi so I use alot of my desk when moving my mouse

I tried a shitty one some a long time ago and didn't bother buying one for the next 10 years
3-4 years ago I got a qck+ for free and It was really nice, the mouse slide flawlessly, it's comfy, the keyboard is really stuck on it and can't slide for some fucking unknown reason
Could not go without one now.
buy the less pricey qck or hyperx they have a low price and are pretty good

I have this mousepad. It got so dirty in a short time frame and trying to wash it made it even worse. I do like the size and how it doesn't slip, but don't buy if you are a clean freak.

it doesn't get dirty if you're clean yourself
It's the same with every mousepad if you're a greasy fat fuck it's going to be dirty in no time
It only cost me $1 so I don't give a fuck.

>a miniature 1 finger joystick in the middle of the fucking keyboard in any way better than a dedicated mouse
Been using trackpoint laptops since 1998, they're all fucking terrible.
