The decks with switches like that break easy as hell. Unless you are personally picking it up, I wouldnt recommend unless you are willing to self-repair if it gets broken (intense gluing).

In shipping both the pause and record buttons broke off of my deck, was a bitch to repair

My day-to-day deck is a Technics RS-B49R, it's a late-80s deck with Dolby B, C, and DBX. Auto reverse, loop play, blank skip... all the nice features.

But the deck I really like is an Akai GX-F25. Early 80s, heavy as balls, flashy lights, aesthetic as fuck. All the control buttons on the bottom light up different colors, and the orange tape progress thing is backlit.

Mine has a crusty rubber wheel though, so it can't fast forward or rewind. I need to fix it at some point, but it's a massive pain in the ass.
