I want an LTE phone, on a budget. I current have the Moto G 2nd Gen and it has all the features I want - except LTE. Geekbuying. $10 cheaper than Gearbest and ships 2-3 weeks with tracking for free. Gearbest is good for accessories though. You should buy at least one case and optionally a screen protector for reasons I'll mention later.

willmyphonework says yes, but you should check the bands. I use T-Mobile and the service is acceptable under MIUI. There were issues with MIUI's modem drivers especially in 7.3.6 and earlier. It's flawless in CM/AOSP if you are comfortable with that.

I personally think the 3S Pro is a better buy because I don't use intensive software. It is more durable than the RNP3, which has a weak aluminum subframe. It's not that bendable, but only from geometry. It will scratch and buckle near the edges, and the plastic bezel does this too. The glass is chemically hardened, so you may not need a protector, but it's dime a dozen so I bought a few.

I heavily recommend flashing a custom ROM. The MIUI botnet is garbage and constantly wakelocks and collects and sends telemetry, resulting in more privacy loss and battery drain. I suggest going with CM. With wakelock terminator+greenify you can idle for weeks and get 12-13hrs SOT. That being said, for $160 it's still the best performance/$ with good battery life and all the sensors.

Okay, got all my applications installed, and have to configure a few. Reviews talk about how the capacitive buttons are too small, but the bigger issue is that they're too close together (not a big deal). You can swap the order of the two flanking buttons which is nice. I put on the included case because it makes the back flat, though we'll see if I stick with it or not. The bell is conceptually dumb, but as of yet I'm bypassing the lock screen entirely by waking with the fingerprint sensor, so we'll see if I even bother to bypass it. Everything seems quite responsive, and the list of recent apps comes up quicker than my S5. It got a little warm when I was installing a million things, so I'll have to play a somewhat intensive game at some point to see if that's a regular thing or what. Briefly tried the camera, and the noise reduction in my dimly-lit house is aggressively enthusiastic. Colours seem better than my S5 in similar conditions, though?

More thoughts tomorrow, maybe.

Currently have the note 7, I like the phone alot. All explosion cases seem to be related to not using original charger and shit like that. Point is I'm not really worried about it exploding on me, it's a non issue. But, since there's a recall I have an urge to take advantage of it. I've never owned an apple product since i was very young with the iPod touch. I owned an iPhone se for about a week and returned because it was just too damn small for me. However, I did enjoy the experience of IOS with the short time that I owned it. I'm not looking to switch to another android phone, the note 7 to me is the absolute best that they have to offer, anything else would be a downgrade. I'm thinking about trading in my note 7 for a regular sized iPhone 7, I'll list the pros and cons and maybe you guys can give me your input and help me decide if I should just keep my note or give the iPhone 7 a try...

The note 7 appeals to me largely due to the fact that it has an s pen, which I really like. It has the absolute best screen on the market as well, I really like the aesthetics of the phone and find it's pretty fucking comfortable to hold despite its size. While I do enjoy taking advantage of a large phone/screen I'm finding it a little cumbersome lately and the idea of a smaller phone seems very appealing to me. I absolutely hate using cases on my phone and refuse to use one. They make the phone bulky and ugly. Now as attractive as I find my note 7 it collects fingerprints like a motherfucker, it makes the phone look disgusting and makes my hands feel slimy after handling it for awhile. Samsung is also apparently going to drop support for the note 7, I think I heard somewhere that you don't be able to use it with the gear VR anymore which is a bummer because I wanted to try it. Now I'm sure there's probably a way around these things but idk if it's really worth it.

I don't own any fancy headphones or anything but still I find the lack of a headphone jack annoying because I don't like being jew'd. I don't like the large bezels and the screen is going to be a massive step down from the note 7. I'll probably miss the s pen too since I like to doodle on my note 7.

Pretty pretty nice. With Resurrection Remix the home button behaves differently. Swiping to the right is play/pause long hold is still opening the recent app view and tapping it is back.
Battery life is okay I'm getting through a day.

If you're coming from a crap dumbphone, it'll be miles ahead of it. If you have amazon prime you can get the $50 price, but you can root and remove the ads, it has a useable camera, and should be enough for basic usage.

The processor and 1GB ram version might be a bit limiting, but root and throw in a $20 64GB microSD and you'll find it an upgrade.

So /g/, help me out here. I have the note 7 and i adore it, but i also adore not dying. Thats important.

But the thing i loved most about it was the stylus - as an artist it let me sketch and color and do what i love wherever i damn well pleased! Unfortunately, clearly none of the newer phones have a stylus so I'm in a predicament.

What should i go for? V20 or the pixel, or should i just go for the note 5? Im halfeay leaning towards the note 5 for the stylus capabilities but i like the power that the v20 and pixel have. I could buy a stylus for them if i chose one, but that would mean trying to hunt down a good, cheap, pressure sensitive pen.

What do you guys recommend? Are there even any good pressure sensitive styluses out there?

In some ways it's better, in others Android is better. Really depends on your needs and wants. I like being able to drag and drop music and also download torrents or zip files on my phone without needing a computer.

I'm not quite a power user like you. It probably won't have great update support, but the bootloader is unlocked, and ZTE is working with Cyanogenmod to make a ROM for it, so you can just go that route.

In my opinion, it's basically what the HTC 10 should've been, with its front facing speakers and more affordable price.

The S7 edge cracks all over from a 3 feet drop with a cover. Maybe the S7 without the edges cracks less. The edges are pretty nice though but sometimes can get annoying while typing. That's why the Note 7 was better, they got the edges just right.

Anyone have any idea if the LG V20's audio recording is as good as it gets? Like, would it be even comparable to proper studio mics?
