Is there any good reason I shouldn't buy this? I'm looking at the entry model and I'm having a hard time justifying buying anything else. I already have a desktop for all my gaming needs, so it would just be a portable ultrabook I'd have for everyday uses when I'm not at home. Is there anything else on the market that can compete with it?

Get a Thinkpad T420 bruh
>>57056593
i would buy this if it didnt have the ugly bright green logo on it
>>57056619
Yeah the logo is literally the only thing stopping me. Would probably just get a skin over it though if possible.

Open it up and cover the LED's
Or, less destructive, get a thick sticker to put over it.
>>57056663
Yeah not a bad idea, sticker would do the trick
Good shot fellas
>dat bezel tho

Isnt the battery life bad though
>>57057150
New model is supposed to be an improved battery, not too sure if that graph is recent or if it would hold up a bit better

depends on your usecase.
I personally have a secondhand x61s thinkpad that some guy tweaked to have increased ram, and bought an extended battery for myself. I use it for when I have to go on fieldwork excursions once a year for my studies. Long battery life when doing simple word processing/browsing because camp usually has few power connectors.
I had a sony vaio 15 inch laptop for a while (regret it a lot), similar 'thin' construction with ventilation in the hinge like the kind that is in the OP. The real problem is heat and the battery. After some time it will almost always start running hot, and after around 2 years of almost daily use the battery dropped to a duration of ~15 minutes when idle. I ordered a replacement battery online and of course even though the shop claimed it was compatible, sony vaio is a bunch of faggots and won't allow the computer to start with it installed. Did I mention that sony didn't sell the official battery anymore either, because they were 'trying to move out of the laptop market'? It still works when you plug it to the wall of course, but my asshole still feels sore from that stint.
