how can someone have a pc that cannot run dota on ubuntu? My core quad q8200 / gt 9600 had literally 100 fps on dota2/ubuntu without shadows (rest max) and its more than 10 years old. hell even my laptop can run it just fine at 80+fps and it has a gt710m

Arch linux with the aformentioned hardware
after a couple of years running Dota would overheat my cpu, even after thermal paste change. I guess its a software problem linux ? dota ?
My amd vga was never fully suported a 1GB card can only use 250mb what a joke, and im not even sure that steam even uses it maybe its running on my igpu ,its so shit on linux it actually crashes if u try to check system info.
Will try win7 when i get enough gold to buy a new hdd

i dont know mate my friend has an intel i5-3330 with a radeon hd 7770 and dota works flawlessly on it, both ubuntu and windows 8.1 tested.
Also yes , dota overheats hardware,you need to limit fps to 60.
In other words try ubuntu , install steam from repos and install amd crimson drivers. If you dont know how and are unable to learn to do so by searching the web instead of making shit threads just pirate windows7 or 8.1 and be a happy person. We will be happier too.
