Do you have it? Does it work or is it just more of an annoyance?
Yes it's worth it
But use Authy or something it's really easy

I didn't know you could do that, pretty neat

yeah I have authy + a Yubikey

It's worth it if you're using the app. Two factor via text can be hacked easily by social engineering. The only thing an attacker would need to do is convince a support person that they're you and have your number transferred to their burner phone. Apps prevent this.

Yubikey looks amazing. In your case it's a 3rd factor, right?

This. And with yahoo giving away everyones phone number and secret questions and answers, hope everyone has the best of luck.
Ive youve ever had a yahoo account you better make sure you dont have the same number anymore, and you cant use the same security questions anymore even though theyre always like the same 10-20 questions
Use it for all my important accounts
Lastpass
Dropbox
Dont give a shit about anything else

>2-step with a phone
It works great to steal accounts

I've been in a situation where I have a compromised email connected to a google account, the email and password for the google account AND got the "mother's maiden name" question right.
It STILL didn't let me in.

I use 32 char random passwords + 2FA on all my accounts. Worth it.
Every time I enable it I seem to lose access to google play it tells me it timed out and the retry button isn't of any use
however I can try to install apps trough the web store but it fails with an error 927
when I disable 2 factor again it goes normal
I tried looking for alternative solutions but with no luck
it was good
but now it got me to problems
I dont know why
but it does
