would it be a bad idea to buy a used chromebook from ebay? mainly to be used for portability (I have a t420 but it's a bit chunky for my bag)
any anons have any experience with used chromebook or chromebook in general?

Don't expect much out of it except for web browsing and writing stuff, not good for much else. If that's all you need then it should serve you great, I've heard battery life is great.

if you get a fanless one then second hand shouldnt be a problem because theres no moving parts.
However, they are built cheap and tend to fall apart after a year or two. An open box one might be a better idea.

thanks! I use my laptop fairly rarely nowadays desu and when i do I'm almost always typing a paper, (i like the drive ecosystem) streaming to my chromecast, or other light use.

Just make sure to get an Intel one if you're planning on installing Linux. If you're planning on using google play when they're released on Chromebooks, get one from the list from this link (or make sure it came out in 2015)

A used Chromebook I recommend is the dell 11. If you plan on installing Linux it's pretty easy with crouton.
they're good for being cheap if you only need it for web browsing and work stuff, also dual boot a linux distro on it
