Apple chips have superior IPC just like Intel over AMD.
Sad really, there's little competition, aside from Samsung Exyblows.
Texas Instruments is out of ARM, so is VIA, and Nvidia is no longer doing phones.

Protip: it's the OS, not the hardware. If you created a version of iOS for Snapdragon devices it would run (meaning the OS itself) just as well and probably a lot better than it does on Apple's silicon.
