get a 1 year lasting headset

or get a 10 year lasting headphone, your choice OP
>>
>>57019636
which is which
>>
>>57019658
the headset in the OP lasts 1 year

a AKG headphone lasts for years
>>
>>57019666
but I need a mic
>>
>>57019680
oh silly you, get the zalman zm-mic1 and never bother about mics ever after
>>
Everybody that got takstar 2050s loved them and no one talked shit about them like a retard. The only difference with these headphones is they're closed, that's really it. Well, pads make a bit of difference, but why worry about that.
>>
Its actually not bad. I like that I can remove the mic and use it like a regular headset
>>
>>57019439
They usually are but this one is an exception, not bad for the price.

You're still better off getting a good pair of headphones and a separate mic.
>>
>>57019692
what akg headphones would you recommend
>>
>>57019731
if you want to never bother about a purchase again, AKG K712 Pro 210€~

i've been through some pricepoints and this is the ultimate compromise if you want high fidelity sound and perfect 3d pinpoint sound for your cs:go sessions

beware though that it is half open backend which lets you hear sounds from your surroundings but enables are greater spacious soundstage
>>
>>57019760
my budget is $100 thanks for the offer though
>>
>>57019784
look for beyerdynamic dt770 then, i think they are around your pricepoint. maybe secondhand
>>
>>57019784
Sony MDR-7506
>>
>>57019806
ok what do the different "ohms" mean
>>
>>57019849
drivability.

you should avoid 250ohms as they are the hardest to drive, only with specific soundchips you know that are capable off.

some hi-end'ish/modern mainboard do have headphone amplification up to 250ohms

if you are certain that you are not able to drive 250ohms with your hardware then choose the 80ohm variant
>>
>>57019849
what ohms actually does is suppress noise.

the higher the ohms, the more juice the drivers need to move and the clearer the output gets, but this also makes the frequency response a bit more stiff/neutral

there's just so much to learn about diaphragms
>>
ok I'll look into them thanks /g/uys
>>
>>57019403
Yep, it's pretty good. Don't listen to the audiophile from /hpg/'s jerk off circle. You could show them a headset that could play the 5th Symphony like you had an orchestra in your room and they'd still think it's shit. This headset is about as good as headset can be for this price.
>>
>>57019873
>>57019890
No and no. Way to not know the most basic electrical relation.

>>57019849
A unit of opposition to current, the impedance. You need more voltage to get a current with higher impedance.
If if you're trying to figure out how this is is important, it's really secondary. The information you really want to know is the sensitivity the decibel to voltage ratio. Unfortunately, most manufacturers don't add that spec.

>>57020276
They would have recommended it.
>>
>>57019403

It's a rebranded Takstar Pro80. Of course it's a good headset as it tends to go for around the same price as that headphone.
>>
if you dont have a sound card/amp then just get a headset

audiofool headphones dont make much of a difference when you plug them into your onboard sound
>>
>>57019403
Best gaming headset I've ever had. Can't tell if that's the Cloud or the Cloud II though.
>>
>>57020821
Both are basically the same if not using the awful usb 7.1 audio meme of the Cloud 2. Cloud 2 however has tad bit better mic.
>>
It's a good headset but the mic on mine stopped working within 6 months and never bothered to RMA it.
>>
>>57019403
Get the pc363/373d
>>
>>57019452
They suck, you can get these exact same headphones without a mic on Alliexpress for like 40 bucks.
The only reason people say this is a decent gaming headset is because Kingston took a decent pair of headphones and slapped a mic on it. Another good headset are the Sennheiser branded ones, since they're based on the HD558
Are they good? yes
Can you get the headphones they're based on for less than half the price? totally
You're paying over twice the price for a mic.
>>
Best you're going to find as far as price to performance ratio.

You may have noticed many autistic audiophiles taking a break from masturbating to their pictures of Akarin wearing 598SE telling you it's crap. Your alternative is to spend money on a pair of headphones and glue a 50 dollar modmic to the side. So if you have absolutely no intention of buying into the /hpg/ snake oil, you might as well get these. They're not the best on earth, but you'll be hard pressed to find something as high of quality and with as much functionality for less.
>>
>>57022986
You can get a 2$ 3,5mm male to male cable and use your android cellphone as a desktop mic.
The sound quality will be as good as the call quality.
>>
>>57022986
I actually siptied a 1$ mic from eBay to my headphones. Works great.
>>
I use it, I think it's fantastic

>>57019403
just buy nice headphones and a real mic you and the people listening to you will appreciate the higher sound quality
>>
>>57023245
Does that microphone happen to have a physical mute button? That's important to me.
>>
>>57023362
No. I just remove it when Im not using it, since it's actually connected to an extension cable and that ends at the headphones themselves.
>>
>>57019403
It is one of the few good ones and good value too. For its price range there is no alternative.
>>
>>57019403
I've had this headset for 2 years now I think, its really comfortable

Not Really/10

Not an audiophile.
Would likely not buy these a 2nd time.
They're durable and comfortable. Mic is flexible, and windsock is easily removable/replaceable with something better.
Cable is a bit short, but whatever, I have to use a breakout cable to adapt the 3-pole 3.5mm connector into Stereo 3.5mm and a Microphone 3.5mm since I have a desktop and my front-ports aren't the 3-pole combined type.

Audio is very...not good. It's just not enjoyable to listen to music on. And game audio lacks just as much. It's not overly bassy, it's not overly sharp, the sound stage/presence/whatever you want to call it (It's ability to make sound sound far away to your left when it's supposed to) is alright, but it's just plain not GOOD at any of it. And adjusting the EQ balance doesn't really make it any better at anything, just amplifies it's "acceptableness" in that field. Adjusting EQ for bass doesn't give it more impact, sound deeper, or anything of the sort. Just makes the low-frequency sounds more prominent. Which does exactly nothing to help you in a game, or make them more enjoyable to listen to.

USB adapter is shit. Avoid it. Either blows your eardrums out, or is too low to properly drive headphones.

My Razer Krakens were cheaper, had a better sound-stage, were just as comfortable, Mic was just as good, And they lacked the sort of blandness the HyperX II's laid over everything.
>>
>>57019403
You can buy an excellent chink one for less than $20
>>
>>57019439
it's not a meme, anon.
>>
>>57024436

I have them too. I was gonna write to OP they're great but upon reading your post I agree.

OP these headphones are "okay" to put it. They aren't terrible and they aren't great, if you're getting a good discount on them and you can't be assed nit picking through headphones then whatever, they're just okay.

The cloud 2 is fairly good. Comfy too.

I use it for both my pc and ps4.
>>
Personally I'd just grab some Audio Technica M40x's and pair them with a v-moda boompro.
>>
>>57019403
No, I had it broke in a year. Mic degrades quickly and becomes useless in a short while.
>>
Itz gay lol
>>
I have a pair of M50's, would it be possible to add an external mic to them and be compatible with games consoles such as the PS4?
>>
>>57022574
>you can get these exact same headphones without a mic on Alliexpress for like 40 bucks.
Bullshit.
Pro 80's and HI2050's are both gone.
