Is it worth it to buy a powerful laptop if I can just buy an eGPU instead?
Been considering just buying an XPS 13 with the 6th generation CPU and 16gb a ram and rely on an eGPU for gaming/rendering. Is it worth it?
I think its worth it.
Especially if you are not gaming often you save money on electricity and after 5 years you can buy new desktop PC for saved money

I thought about doing it but I didn't because I don't travel enough to justify it. Unless you 'do' travel a lot your better of just buying an amazing desktop and a descent laptop. In this case even if you want to game most Igpus and good enough for older games and emulators.

Its not worth it at all, its bulky as shit and expensive as ass

If you have the money now, it will save you from upgrading sooner. If you buy a $250 laptop this year, you'll probably be upgrading it in 18 months or less. If you buy the machine you want, you can still use it for with and day to day usage for 2-4 years.
Cheap laptops are just that. Cheap.

I mean if you have money and no space (at all), then try out the eGPU but if you go with something that doesn't have a 6700hq then you might get fucked in certain games.
If you're thinking of using the razer core, it doesn't work as well with non razer laptops
