How old were you when you started Koding?
Just started learning , 26
>>57016693
been doing it on and off since I was 14
>>57016693
8, I think.
20. Tried to start a few times in my teens, but couldn't figure out how to program in Windows. Really resent Microsoft for the ridiculous entry barrier tbqh. I don't consider copy-pasting action script programming.
20. Cpp. Fuck.

What advice for noobz?

Don't reinvent the wheel.

started learning C++ at the tender age of 11. am a C++ wizard now at 20.

I'm 22.
>tfw to intelligent to learn coding
>>57016693
>tfw she'll never be your extreme programming partner
off and on since junior high, first real class was comp sci ap in high school and it was taught in c++
when i learned about cd
>>57016693

6, Intel 286, DOS, BASIC
18. Life was so much better back then.
15, programming robots in high school. I'm am 27 and haven't tried since.
15 i guess
>>57017847
this.
learn off what other people have made.
A question for the self taught ITT: How long did it take for you to become an employable programmer?

>>57016693
About 16 started learning Python on my own on Codecademy, about 18 started a Uni, learnt algorithm, C#,Java, CSS, HTML and such but simply hated it with all my heart, dropped out. Now at 20 doing a uni more related to Data, not dev. Got back (on my own interest) to basic math all the way to calculus, properly learned algorithm and learning C. I like it now.
>2016
>no kode with Karlie Kloss
I honestly don't know.
Every few years I try and I get pissed off. I think that cycle has been happening since the age of 9-10.

5 moths thanks to nepotism
if you started Koding after your were 13 then it's too late for you sorry
21 with Matlab as part of a science degree and then I switched to Software Engineering
>>57020508
Where would you start?
>>57016693
Hard to say noe that I think about it. 6? I know it was before going to school but I can't imagine that I was younger
7th grade, that would make me 12 years old
My first language was QBASIC, then batch scripting, then VB6, then C, then shell scripting, now 8051-asm, and avr-asm, plus embedded C
The really shitty thing is, now i am in first year of college and have to officially learn (relearn, just officially this time) C, when i know everything they teach
>>57017847
This. But at least learn how the wheel works and why it does what it does.
>>57016693
>tfw she will never be in your startup
16 or 17
>>57017875
Feel better?
>>57023711
be a smartass in the lectures.
btw hf helping normies with their homework.
if she actually made something literally everyone on facebook would try it. the klossapp would be huge for at least a week.
>>57016693
started with 16 but never done anthing with it. i get more into it since ~2 years
>>57016693
35ish, I was a technician for a long time then got in on the iOS app boom.
Elementary school if you consider HTML/CSS a language. Otherwise middle school for PHP and IRC scripts.
>>57016693
Never. I employ a pajeet for $0.01 per hour to do all my coding for me.
>>57022078
how much math is there in software engineering? are you happy you made the switch?
>>57016693
5 or 6, learned Comodore BASIC on my own.
14
Starting early makes programming later on more fun and enjoyable

Quickly learned that it was nothing I was suited for and stopped doing it.
Good old "age doesn't matter"
I had piano lessons since I was a kid and one of my bestfriend highschool classmate was a natural prodigy who played better than me in less than 6 months, he's now some composer of European orchestras so it's not about the time or experience but it's more about the jest and the étoffe, this strand of DNA you're gonna bring to create your own age ad vitam aeternam
About 6 months ago.
Now I basically think in binary and mostly dream about coding.

My dad brought home a used XT 8088 from his company and gave me a THICC BASIC handbook.
Thanks dad. :)

How do I learn to program in Algorithm?
>>57016693
Given a VZ200 for christmas when I was 7. Programmed own games in basic and saved on audio tapes.
>>57016693

>ywn go back to those carefree basic java days
>your life is an endless hell of pointer arithmetic and meme factories now
>>57016693
9 or 10 the first time I fiddled around with QuickBASIC.
Around 20 when I seriously got into programming in university.
>>57021453
