I've never seen this phenomenon for any other software project.
Would it be inappropriate to register an account and start chatting with these girls?
I failed at dating sites and failed at most forms of social media (note /g/ presence), but I think it's all about finding a good supply-demand ratio, one where you're pretty much the only dude available for conversation.
