what does /g/ think of the pyra?
do you have a pandora and if so, how do you like it?
it's so fucking bulky and looks awful
will we ever get a decent palmtop again that isn't some overly-niched shit for gamertards?
>>57001594
Why is it so retardedly fat? And what the fuck is the point of those video game controls? Are those SD fucking card slots?
>>57002240
How do you use it?
How often?
>>57002275
don't personally own a pandora or pyra, they don't really appeal to me at all
>>57001594
Also

Into the trash.
>>57002394
second key in from the bottom right i think
>>57001594
I have the same reaction to it as I do to all of these submicro laptops.
>>57002747
Who the fuck thought that was a good idea?
That keyboard is worse than those $20 organizers you can buy at drugstores.

I wonder how many people will defend the red dildobox by saying they use it for 'coding.'
>>57002275
I talked about this HP.
>>57002818
>The red dildobox
With all the trapshit around here, that's a great name to lure /g/tards into buying.
Why the fuck is it €500? It's weaker than a Raspberry Pi
>>57001594
No I almost pre-ordered one way back in the day.
>>57002891
You can upgrade it.
>>57002924
>you can upgrade it to where the raspberry pi is now
>if they release the module for it

x86 master race
>>57002870
don't have a 300LX either but I want one (or a 100LX) eventually, currently I use a 95LX almost daily mostly for keeping track of notes and appointments as well as graphing and spreadsheets, the only real complaint is the shift key/ctrl key swap and the difficulty of sourcing SRAM cards so I can stick freemacs and a C compiler on it without eating the 384K ramdisk up
Wasn't there a dos based sharp portable from back in the day, a bit thicker than the HP 100lx, with a monochrome display, and a mechanical keyboard?
>>57003121
dunno about memechanical but yeah the PC-3000 series had a pretty decent (but obviously still extremely small) keyboard
>>57002998
Just get a chink x86 tablet with a dock or some shit
>>57003329
Find me a 5.5" x86 tablet then.
>>57003288
I like. But the one in head seemed older design even. Searching as well

No Android...it's shit.
>>57003619
You can install Android on it if you want, Pajeet.
>>57001594
A cool idea but useless. A cheap notebook is just as portable and much more useful.
I wish more phones had physical keyboards though.
>>57002240
Not open source XDDDDDDD
>>57003705
In every Priv thread people say they use the screen keyboard more than the physical keyboard. Who knows.
>>57001594
ughhhh when does it get released?
want it so badly

fucking wew
>>57003932
me too, i agree w/ the shit posters and know it will only collect dust but i still want one..
>>57003705
>just as portable
>shittier battery life, fatter, hotter, and table-bound
you could take a proper modern palmtop anywhere and use it everywhere, a "cheap notebook" is hardly going to compare
not that I'm saying OP's thick unusable abomination is anywhere close to what a "proper" implementation could be however
>>57004079
>you could take a proper modern palmtop
Tell me where I can find this proper modern palmtop.
i wish ubuntu's edge would have taken off. it's a better idea than the pyra.
>>57001594
Huh, I rather like the chunky little fucker. Just had a look at the sales websites, it's appallingly bad which isn't reassuring, but i can see this being handy for stuff on the go. I'm in but they need to sort out their upgrades, just a touch behind in specs terms, but nothing that would fuck with what I'd want to do with it.
>>57001594
>ARM
Into the trash it goes.
>>57004340
given the form factor arm is the right choice
does your phone use a x86?
>>57004385
Yes?
>>57004426
Your are dead to me.
Jokes aside, hows the battery life been in real world use?
Unrelated: I'm so sad I didn't get one if these
I've had Pandora #612 from the first batch. Bad LCD cable with maybe 10hrs of actual use. Waste of 3yrs waiting, paid $330 should have sold when they were $1000.
>>57004576
10-12h
>>57004661
Damn. Beats the battery on my Nexus by over two hours :(
>>57004726
Which Nexus? I get 2 - 2.5 days light use (calls and SMS only) out of my 6.
>>57002272
It's like an inch thick... Really not bad.
>>57002240
Nokias were better than that
>>57002272
>>57004808
It is bad. Look at this chink one, even the design is light-years ahead.

>>57004842
However the Pandora has significantly more options for expand-ability. You can cram a terabyte into it. That's a lot of /vr/ shit and porn. Of course this isn't really worth it for that crazy price, and I can't see using it for programming or anything.
>>57002975
I do i'm really sad it diden't pan out.
>>57001594
Just get a android tablet or decent chromebook.
>>57004842
what will this thing be able to run? seems good in theory but if all it can do is run n64/ps1 emulators like the devices already available, i don't see the point in it
>>57004878
It can run much more

yeah that's decent. if it actually goes for sale, i might buy one
