I default to testing but have unstable enabled. If an update breaks something, the fixed package is often already in unstable. Or I can roll something back using debian snapshots.

Arch is better because debian has:
Too many base packages
No AUR
(trivial) SJWs and Shit logo

Pretty happy with Arch right now, won't be switching back.
>>
>>57003028
I don't use znc or have a seedbox. I have physical servers in my basement. I run irssi in tmux on one of them. All my torrenting is done on my personal desktop. I backup the stuff I download to a file server, but I wasn't satisfied with any sort of remote torrenting setups. The transmission web client is total ass. Wouldn't let me save to a folder with spaces in it, and I couldn't rename files in the download like I could in the regular client. Haven't tried rtorrent yet, but I imagine rutorrent is similarly lacking.

Honestly. I respectdebian. But it is annoying and outdated PPA etc

Arch works so much better for me and I have no non stable issue with it so far.

I'd prefer ubuntu over debian these days. which is sad I know
>>
>not installing gentoo

I realize it's a meme, but desu I can't see any reason to use Linux if you aren't going to take full control. Muh freedoms ship sailed long ago.
>>
>>57006087
Distros like Gentoo/Arch are fun at first, you have full control and can easy play around and learn a lot. After a while though it gets tedious. Eventually you're OK with letting the OS start to do things for you. You're competent enough to dive in and customize when you need it, but why bother when 95% of the time it doesn't really matter?
>>
>>57005984
> I used to run my server on Arch

>>57006203
>implying I have to dive in and customize regularly
I tweak configs maybe once a month. The only tedium occurs when I'm setting up on new hardware but that's a once in several years problem. Not a big deal.
