Should I spend my time reading SICP, or is there an easier way to learn about the structure and concepts featured in the book?
>Inb4 anons call me retarded
Programming's all about efficiency and I want to know whether reading the book is an efficient use of my time.

>implying your time is important to anyone at all
You should probably kill yourself, like right now.

SICP is the worst of the /g/ memes

>He hasn't read SICP
>>56999594
Thank god

It's important to me lad.
SICP is all about designing languages and interpreters. The later chapters go into the metacircular evaluator and extensions to it such as nondeterministic programming etc. up to implementing a register machine for your Scheme.
It is probably the best piece of literature for its particular topics. If you don't like it, give EOPL a try.
Like the _Art of Computer Programming_ volumes, _Introduction to Algorithms_, etc., literally nobody reads SICP. They're shelf decoration.
Here's another Karen for anyone here.

I see. I'll probably read it when after reading some algorithm books, since I'm more interested in designing programs, and planning them out.
Thanks anyway.

>Tfw I was going to read Introduction to Algorithms
Fuck off with this anime shit
>>56999403
>Programming's all about fun and I want to know whether reading the book is fun.
Fix'd.
Yes, SICP is fun and will make you a better develloper.
