My advice is buy a chinkphone CHEAP. Buying a premium android phone is like buying a Ferrari with a Hyundai motor.

This, or one of the recent Sony phones. HTC and Sony are the last good Android phone brands.

Xiaomi/Huawei are nice, too, (especially Xiaomi, they supposedly have an update schedule that's on par with the Nexus phones - I can't confirm nor deny that since I don't own neither) but they're for another market. The OEM skin also imitates iOS somewhat so you'd probably not like it.

A westerner like you would be pleased the most with an HTC phone or a Sony. They sport decent design, an stable and close-to-stock OEM version of Android which has just the right amount of functionality. The ROM support for those devices tends to be great, too.

only thing i don't like about turbo 2 is not being able to use it in one hand but the big screen is nice so it's not really a flaw. just a trade off. ready berserk manga on the toilet is great but makes me late for work once in awhile.

i just replaced my 5s with a used lg g4 for 180. no complaints so far

oh and when i get up in the morning i still have 50% battery life after a full day of use. then i just throw it on the charger while shower an it's at 90% or so again. big batteries are very useful if you like music as well.
