Is it Amarok, Clementine, Foobnix, Audacious, Rythmbox or DeaDBeeF?

DeaDBeeF because it's so similar to foobar2k.

mpd+ncmpcpp for metal and Clementine for classical because I excluded it due to shitty tags and I'm too lazy to retag them.
>>56978820
Deadbeef, everything else is dogshit compared to it.

Foobar2000 via Wine.
Rhythmbox
Nobody mentioned Tomahawk
Is it dead?

This, although it still has a long way to go. Until then, >>56978824
Why do leenux devs try making 20 bad audio players instead of like 3 or 4 good ones?
>>56978820
Cmus
Lollypop

Seriously, what do you guys see in foobar2k? I used it before and it didn't seem to be anything special.

Spotify you autist
>>56979515
This. I don't want to listen to the same old shit all the time, I like putting random playlists and discover new things.
>>56978820
I've tried pretty much all the Linux music players.
lollypop is best for looks and simplicity
cmus is the best cli player
audacious is best for playlists and large libraries
Gpmdp is best for streaming, Spotify is trash

Core functionality, components, the scripting language. You need to go deep in order to appreciate what it has to offer.
It's not perfect, but certainly special.

Lollypop has potential. I think Tomahawk is farther along than it though. However, I thing you need to look into MPD.
Ive been at arms with most Linux players until I installed Manjaro. It came with mpd and cantana as a default. So I decided I would give it a real chance and honestly I'm just impressed in general by how cool mpd is. It has some nice features I never enjoyed. The auto import is always instantaneous.
Cantata is a really nice looking front end. I always found a lot of music players that looked modern on Linux either don't exist or are unstable. (getting Tomahawk and Lollypop running on arch last time around was a fucking nightmare) I think it has a LONG way to go to get the functionality I enjoy of musicbee. (in fact, I still sometimes run musicbee in WINE. I just don't like to because the font rendering is trash in WINE and I haven't been able to change the musicbee font properly) However, the interface is pleasant to use. It has cover flow, and artist pictures. (something that legitimately bothers me about things like Clementine and Amarok is that you can't set artist pictures to show in the column browser. It's really just ugly and frustrating, and I associate a lot of bands and albums more by their picture and cover more than name)
Also mpd +nococpcjeoeoco is a lot better than CMUS, imo.
Also no mention of rhythm box? I think the project is dead, but there are a lot of good plug-ins in it that makes me wish there was more plug in support for other browsers.

Saying deadbeef is similar to foobar is like saying notepad is similar to Word.
>>56978820
Cantata
>>56978820
lollypop, cause it's purdy
>>56979354
this for gui
mpd+ncmpcpp for tui
>>56979848
I prefer simple music players, as in they organize and play your music and that's it. Cmus and lollypop work right out of the box, no config necessary.
I used tomahawk for awhile, it's alright but it's bloated. Mpd and it's frontends are great but require a decent amount of time to setup and configure. Also you said it yourself, rhythmbox is dead.

Disgusting.

Insane extensibility via user components.

Let me recommend CMUS
lightweight, portable, fun, and fully keyboard friendly for my fellow autists
>>56978820
Clementine
All of your motherfuckers need mplayer
Audacious.

Send a link of that music player
mpd+ncmpcpp*+icecast2
I can control mpd from anywhere, listen to it from anywhere, and have many options in regards to what client I use to do so. On my desktop, I prefer ncmpcpp.
I use Audacious.
What is this "deadbeef is similar to foobar" meme?
I couldn't even find album and library views.
Am I just dumb? Couldn't find plugins anywhere either.
