Is Startpage the comfiest search engine?

I would be comfier if I knew I wasn't ultimately relying on Google, but otherwise it's pretty great.

Google gives far better search results though.
I suspect they purposefully feed startpage shitty results so people don't use it.

The logo looks stupid but I really like using the !Bangs.

Startpage is great for porn of questionable legality, because it has a built in proxy for viewing pages anonymously and it will actually tell you if a website doesn't let you view it anonymously I.e. it will track you and is probably an FBI honeypot, unlike Google who will just rat you out

Well part of why google gives you better search results is that they know more about your search habits. When this meta data is stripped off it's much harder to guess what you're looking for.

i used it for a week or so
it´s nice but at least where i live it sometimes is very slow ie up to 10 seconds till page is loaded
compared to googles instant
