The only thing I like in VSCode is its debugger. Its quite useful for PHP.

I used to be an Emacs user, I think its the best in terms of speed gain. But a pain on Windows.
Then I used Vim, pretty good, but normies are scared by it and same, its not always easy to use on Windows.
