Got a job as a data center tech.
I start Monday interview was easy and I won't be running wire or dealing with people every two minutes on a phone.

I don't know how it was for programmers, but you gotta do your time in helpdesk for anything else.

Programmers don't need the helpdesk shenanigans. Once you've got the projects to show, interviewers know you're likely a social wreck and will be lenient on the interview.
