>surprised when a website won't work when you're blocking the CDN
Block cloudflare and see how that works out, friend.
>>
>>56970578
How do we rid ourselves from the CDN cancer?
>>
>>56971093
There's nothing wrong with CDNs
>>
This is a good place to ask.
I know Akamai existed since way back then (I started browsing in 2001), but why does almost every website today uses CDNs?
I also don't understand why every website nowadays has a hundred of calls to foreign APIs and shit, like this small website for looking through shitty jokes now has a reference to googleapis.com.

I would also ask when 2 MB pages became acceptable. Even back then with us cramming a ton of shitty gifs in our dragon ball pages, it didn't reach this level of idiocy.
>>
>>56971120
Yes, there is. I want to visit www.websiteXYZ.com so why would Google, Facebook, Twitter, Akamai nd Cloudflare need to know I'm visiting that website? I didn't consent to them contacting me.
>>
>>56971166
I understand CDNs for hueg websites with millions of daily visits are necessary but shit is getting out of hand for the rest of the internet.

I'm starting to block third-party scripts and frames by default.

The whole thing about needing to load three JS libraries and two font packs from two different locations is where I draw the line. You literally only need text and images, fucking javascript ruined the internet.
>>
>>56971169
Google, Facebook, and Twitter are not CDNs. You can freely block them if you're not trying to access content hosted by them.

If you want to access content hosted by akamai, they are obviously going to know about it. You might as well think of the site you're visiting as part of akamai, because it basically is.

Even if you block cloudflare's domains, the site you're going to that uses cloudflare is still going through cloudflare servers, and they still know you're accessing it.

>I didn't consent to them contacting me
You contacted them and requested the content they serve. Learn how the internet works.

This.
Its all because faggots want to rice out their wepage.

We really need to return to html 3 or 4. Its just ridiculous at this point

>try to look at webpage
>just wont work
>see a dozen scripts blocked
>try to sort through them and figure out whats actually needed like "amozon needs amzn.com" or some shit
>nothing I try works
>give up and allow all scritps from all urls on this single page
>still dont work
>go back to blocked scirpts
>mfw theres a dozen new sites that the first ones all brought in
>allready gave up this much
>allow all again
>fmw the page still doesnt work
>mfw loading this single page relies on data from literally dozens of different websites/companies/servers/countries/agencies
This just isnt acceptable.

I've had exactly the same experience, maybe it atleast awards you some comfort to feel like you're a hacker who can't be traced. Well unless he wants to watch some sketchy shemale porn and has to allow all

I love Java and love when faggots like you get your panties in a twist about it. Go on, read my post and seethe.

Youre right, I totally ignored the fact that he mentioned there was tranny porn on sketchy websites.
I should check my privilege and go masturbate exclusively to that so asto create an inclusive environment in the porn industry. My heterosexual white male privilege is obviously problematic and dangerous.

The ship has sailed anon.

Read up on React.js and jsx and Javascript state-0 presets.

The ship has not only sailed, it's full-steam ahead into yet more web standards and continuous iterations of Javascript that require you to use Javascript that isn't even Javascript yet.

>>mfw loading this single page relies on data from literally dozens of different websites/companies/servers/countries/agencies
>This just isnt acceptable.

>Right-click on video
>Inspect Element
Allow whatever is in the URL for that frame/whatever

That usually gets you your ladyboy porn without too much tracking shit.
>>
>>56973134
>Filter these ones
Also,
middle-click on NoScript Allow/Forbid entries and read and contribute to site descriptions. Helps working out what to allow.
>>
>>56973214
oy vey, only $6? The price sure has gone down since the olden days..

faster internet connection

CDN was made to lighten the web host but it fucks the recipient
>>

>The ship has sailed

Im tired, its either going to break down to two things
Are you saying the ship has sailed for bloated shit ware sites and we are stuck with this shit and its only going to get worse?
Or are you saying that there is a movement to resimplify the web and make it less bloat ricer shitware?
>>
>>56973542
>>Right-click on video
>>Inspect Element
>Allow whatever is in the URL for that frame/whatever
gonna have to try that, thanks anon.
>>

>Are you saying the ship has sailed for bloated shit ware sites and we are stuck with this shit and its only going to get worse?
This is what I am saying, shit is getting worse and worse and worse.

Bloat in features is going up. Bloat in size and speed is maybe coming down a bit though, stuff like React.JS tends to minify small and be fast and bundling jquery into your app built with webpack/browserify means that you don't make CDN calls for it, so that's something I guess.
>>
>>56971166
>CDN's locate data closer to your customers. It is faster to hit an Akamai server (which is likely in your local ISP's data center), then go all the way out Pajeet.com
>Cuts down on demand. Static content CSS/Images aren't difficult to serve but can account for >50% of webserver load.
>>
>>56970487
decentraleyes helps with generic shit like jquery from googleapis
>>56971363
>Google, Facebook, and Twitter are not CDNs. You can freely block them if you're not trying to access content hosted by them.
ajax.googleapis.com hosts jquery and many webmasters use it.

i think bloated pages and a million different locations from which a page is fetched are seperate issues:
bloated pages don't necessarily load from multiple locations and the other way around. case in point: lots of small, sleek websites use Google analytics
granted, bloated pages often use lots of locations.
>>56973098

>i think bloated pages and a million different locations from which a page
Im just talking about when you go to a website and right click, go to no script settings, and see that they want to run shit from a thousand sites and the site wont work otherwise. Some sites show up just a black page, oterhs show up looking like html 3 just black text on white space, other sites the buttons dont even work, some sites the buttons work but they dotn actually perform their functions, some sites the videos dont load up unless you enable *.com then after page relaods you have to enable *.net and *.player.com, the relaod and enable a few more things. fuck spellcheck, Im done.

>>56973768
Never seen that button, what are you sing to block shit?
