Well we could always just recommend you something that's $1000+.

not OP,
Looking at the Blue Snowball for just talking to goons on the 'net, but I'm thinking... if I pick up a BM-800 and some cheap audio interface, just to remove the background fuzz on the condenser mic in real time, will I have better audio quality for less money and the added bonus of neat shit on my desk?
What cheap audio interface/pre-amp should I get?

Neumann M149
I got a Shure SM48-LC, haven't used it.

blue snowflake
blue snowball
blue yeti
blue spark + icicle
in order from cheapest to best.
this list is by no means the best for price, outside of the spart which is comparable to multi thousand dollar microphones at least as far as voice over goes, but these are the easiest, least hassle microphones you can get.
the other ones that would beat these for price usually use xlr and 3.5mm which may require phantom power or an audio interface, which further fucks with how quality the microphones are.
personally, if my blue yeti dies, i plan on getting Zoom H2n Handy Recorder as it is a portable recorder that also can be used as a main mic for pc.

made a mistake, it was a 3200$ mic and a 1000$ mic. The conclusion if I remember right, all mics are fantastic, but certain voices may be better captured on one mic over the others just because of what said mic can capture.

Radiofag here
My job is just talking into a microphone at predetermined times, but I can tell you that I like the blue snowball for home use. Protip though: software processing almost universally is terrible.
>>56974036
I feared this, but I really wanted a BM-800 and some unnecessary tech looking shit next to my computer.. thing is I know fuck-all about audio interfaces.

If you're planning on just looking for a stand alone mic just for talking voip, then a Blue Snowball is all you need
>>56974202
It's overkill to pair a fifteen dollar mic with a $100 audio interface. All I want to do is remove background hum/noise in real time, what's the cheapest thing I can use to plug the BM-800 into that will do this?

Anon, I'm sorry, but...

Literal garbage that for the same price you could get a real mic and interface instead of using this absolute GARBAGE

what is it, senpai?
Blue Yeti USB Microphone - Silver
>>56973039
You know someone is straight retarded when they suggest a Blue microphone to someone.
It's ugly, the stand is ass, and it's digital USB. However, if you're absolutely set on not buying a proper interface, this is one of your best bets from a monetary standpoint. It has surprisingly decent build quality and while the sound is nowhere near a professional level, it sounds better than Blue's crap without being as expensive. I got one on Amazon for about $50.

Shure SM57, ~$100, the President uses two of them, a standard item in recording studios everywhere.
>>56975579
did you buy the shitty ice one?
I got pic related (iSK BM-800) with some accessories for less than a $100 online.
For a budget microphone is very decent, but you do need a proper sound card (or a phantom power supply) but it's pickup area is limited so it kills a lot of outside noise which is important for me.
I've got an elevated highway right outside my window and the mere traction sounds from cars' tires kills me.
