Is there a way to partially lock an SD card? As in, can I put files on one, lock those files onto it so they can't be deleted or modified, but still have the rest of the space be useable as normal?
yeah you partition it and encrypt the partition you want to keep stuff on

How does microsoldering make you feel?

Would that screw anything up with access of it in, say, a phone? Would the encrypted partition be accessible while the phone could do other stuff like taking pictures on it without having to manually switch between partitions? I tried digging around online and couldn't figure that out.

I take it this is going to be tricky if I actually want to do it.

xattrs

Wouldn't someone still be able to format it?
Did you know that the lock switch is not actually an electronic switch, and that it's up to the card reader to detect the state of the switch (mechanically) and disallow write operations?
