whats the comfiest distro with KDE thats actually reasonably stable, /g/? fedoras been giving me too much bullshit as of late, so im thinking of ditching it
>>56964512
>>56964521
i asked for stable, not some cucklefucks toy distro
>>56964534
It's stable if you know how to use your computer
>>56964585
ive got shit to do on it, i dont give a fuck about theoretical stability, i give a fuck about how well it lets me get shit done
OpenSuse. You can delete your thread now.
>>56964512
FreeBSD
>>56964512
Gentoo.
>>56964534
You're a retard. If you want stability don't use KDE
fucking sage this shitty thread /g/ I beg of you to relearn sage bombing
>>56964676
this for real
spend a couple days getting it up and running and you're good to go.
KDE is gentoo's somewhat """""semi-official""""" DE. the handbook always uses it as an example and it has a flavoured stage3tarball iirc
>>56964842
I was being serious, I use Gentoo for real (with XFCE tho).
>>56964600
> i give a fuck about how well it lets me get shit done
Exactly. And it seems you don't know how to use your computer
>a distro won't let me get shit done
0/10
>>56964512
Go for one that uses KDE by default. There are a few of them, but I can only remember OpenSUSE and I think Mageia right now.
OpenSUSE gave me nothing but trouble, but YMMV.
>>56964951
ive never had opensuse just werk, whats mageia like?
>>56964521
>>56964585
Look anon, this OP knows what he wants and won't fell for the meme, tho it's really hard to find a distro with stable plasma.
>>56964512
antergos
>>56967118
KDE Neon comes straight from KDE devs, it's the most stable possible KDE distro. I have used KDE for ages before and now I am back again.
Feels at home
>>56967277
how is neon? its basically kubuntu, isnt it?
>>56967890
no
https://neon.kde.org/faq
>>56964512
try openSUSE Leap 42.2. It's now in beta and it comes on November. It is supposed to be lery stable
>>56964512
kde neon or debian/mint
gentoo is actually not a full meme suggestion here if you get thrills from that shit
>>56964512
Arch and openSuse have pretty nice kde.
Anything but kubuntu is breddy gud imo.
openSuse looks nice, but has every service under the sun running by default. Google which ones are safe to shut down is all you need.
>>56967118
there's no stable plasma. that's just a myth, if not a meme
>>56964512
I've only used it a week thus far, but Neon user seems pretty stable. At least as stable as any other 'buntu LTS derived distro is going to be. Meaning you could easily do non-critical production on it.
If you want to do professional work though you really ought to stick to the professional distros. Suse has been KDE standard for the longest so that would be my first choice if I were so inclined.
>>56968869
have very few services running when checking with yast on tumbleweed, what should I google?
>>56964512
krita has been crashing for me on Arch for a while
>>56969663
openSUSE is absolutely atrocious if you're used to the simplicity of Debian. Might be acceptable to Fedora users, idk.
>>56969969
How is it complicated at all?
