Just got this from a friend, it's the high-res PowerBook G4 that takes DDR2 RAM, the last Apple laptop to use PowerPC.
About to install Debian and buy 2GB of RAM for it.
Any SGI or Sun users lurking?

What the hell?

Yep, just before the PowerPC line of macs were killed off they released 15" and 17" PowerBooks that took DDR2 RAM. The 17" PowerBooks had a resolution of 1680x1050. It's a shame they didn't add SATA drives though.
Hell the last G5s were 2.5GHz quad-cores and to this day can still be used to browse the net comfortably. Sadly they're hard to find and when you do, the faggot usually asks $500-600 for the damn thing.

You gotta remember them liquid-cooled G5s are a bit old now. Those systems are known to leak with age.

My stack of shitty SPARC boxes is getting out of hand, here's an ancient blogshot from one that actually works (my server)

Results seem to vary, seen a couple guys here and elsewhere on the net still running quads. The single-chip DC models are still fine too though.
I used to use an iBook G4 with Debian, but ditched it since it was kind of a piece of shit with a pretty bad keyboard. Here's a pic of that setup

I just got a 1.33 GHz 12'' the other day for $2, how was it shitty? Do you mean it was just beaten up or was it running too slow for what you wanted to do?
Trying to convince myself to grab an AC adapter for it, but I have other projects in the way.
