but if god is talking through it, wouldn't that mean it's not truly random?
or is my conception of god misguided?

True randomness doesn't exist since everything is predetermined.

Silly anon. You don't generate random numbers. You look them up.

I've honestly had a lot of trouble finding comparisons of the quality of randomness or potential security concerns regarding hardware RNGs.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_hardware_random_number_generators

Going by this table, the bitbabbler sounds pretty interesting. 50 or 200 kangaroo bucks plus shipping, depending on the volume of randomness I need.

I have no idea if there's been any improvement in Intel's integrated RNG since IvyBridge and the backdooring concerns, so I really like that bitbabbler is open source, both hardware and soft/firmware.

Oh, unless you were talking about methods, not specific implementations. As I understand it, it seems like a beamsplitter based one (which is influenced by broad spectrum noise, from cosmic background radiation to local thermal noise) is probably the fastest and needs the least whitening.
But anything based on a physical noise detector in a standard environment is going to be statistically random and pretty much fundamentally unpredictable according to our modern understanding of science.

No, it's predetermined.

Seems like it would be effective to use orientation, other sensors, mic to generate random numbers. Have the user do or say stuff as the number is generated
Or am I missing something ?
