there was a poster here the other day clammering on about an acer with an i7 and a 970 in it for 350$
it's hard to believe the price but i guess we'll see
if indeed it's not a hoax, that laptop would be the one to get
unfortunately i don't have a link.

I got my Dell Inspiron 14 for about 300 bucks (ubuntu edition).
It has a pentium and 4 gigs of ram.
Tossed out the HDD and replaced with an SSD, and it runs smooth (kinda lags when loading 20+ tabs of heavy websites on chrome but it's overall fine)
