What languages should I start out with? I've learned some Java and now I'm learning HTML and CSS. Any help is appreciated.

You should continue learning Java instead of dropping it for another language.
HTML, CSS and Javascript is NOT programming.

Incorrect. Javascript is.
>>56947776
According to whom?
>>56947773
I mean I can but I need a better reason than that.
>>56947791
According to anyone who isn't a webdev.
Frontend webdev is not programming.>>56947785
>>56947795
The reason is because you already have some experience working with Java and continuing that is the most painless experience you can get.

I'd love to hear your reasoning why it is so, but I know you have none. Oh well. I program C for a living.
>>56947776
JavaScript is most definitely a programming language.
>>56947801
Thanks for your opinion, don't let the metaphorical door hit your ass on the way out.
>>56947807
True. But I want to be multi-faceted.
>>56947823
>True. But I want to be multi-faceted.
You can do that later, when you are at least well-versed in one language.
>>56947829
You never let me do anything, dad!
>>56947807
>Oh well. I program C for a living.
How well does that pay where you live?
>>56947846
120000 RUR per month.
>>56947856
Not bad but not enough to say that you're rich.
>>56947869
Well, I'm not saying that,
>>56947875
True. Is the cost of living in Russia decent?
>>56947880
I can't give you a good comparison, especially considering how unstable ruble has been recently.
>>56947891
Fair enough. Do you think I should even be learning any of this for a quality assurance analyst job or what?
>>56947869
One hundred and twenty thousand euros a month isn't rich
What planet you you guys live on
>>56947904
Oh shit my bad that says rur not eur
>>56947899
I think it takes a very special mindset to enjoy programming - and you will have a very miserable experience if you become a programmer without that. I do posses that mindset, but most of people I met don't.
>>56947904
>euros
lisp
>>56947904
>this dude really said euros
>>56947915
Well, then what would I need to know to get that job? It's in the cards right now but I haven't interviewed with them yet or gotten a job offer. All I know is that they are interested in people like myself.

Sorry, I don't know requirements for QA personnel. In my understanding, they don't even program at all.
>>56947940
I guess it depends but QA usually requires atleast some proficiency in a scripting language such as ruby or python
>>56947776
do u even program?
>>56947769
I know nothing about computers at all how can i learn to program?
