This is the reason I have a problem with Apple. Ot's a fine OS, but their business model is toxic in terms of supporting a healthy technical community. Good OS with mediocre, overpriced hardware that would questionaly hold up to market competition- they market their hardware and software together as a single brand that I don't particularly want to buy

Thats sad, windows 10 has more market share than Windows 8 ever had. 8.1 was legitimately a good OS but it was released 2 years too soon. Now for the next 5 years of what could have been its potential retail lifespan it will be clumped in with Windows 7 as a legacy OS. It didn't even get to live as long as vista.

Most linux users are also dual booting. When they want to get work done and not fiddle with config files for weeks they boot up windows.

I myself am one of those people. Literally the only reason I have linux is to rice the fuck out of it and post on desktop threads here. I also like to troll windows users while being one myself, it makes me feel satisfied for some reason.

What the hell? You use apple if you have a business and can afford it or if you can just afford. Most everyone I know that uses apple business. Like when you have clients and if your system fucks up you can get on the phone and get help for the exact setup you have and the client will understand unlike even using windows where you'll be pacing in circles screaming 'wtf wtf wtf'.

Threads here often go on and on about the marketshare of microsoft but it's apple that is the industry standard for so many things.

Thanks, I didn't realize how much less space they've been making desktop computers. I've been using laptops for the last almost 15 years without even searching for desktop ones. This is exactly what I've been needing. It's like a laptop with a bigger screen, and just about almost as portable.
