Why did keyboards stop having those squiggly cords anyway?

Probably because people wanted more minimalist computers with less clutter, and only wanted to see the peripherals. No wires, nothing. Not really possible with the squiggly cords because a coil can't be hidden, if you stretch it to be longer, it will still be a coil and then it will just be really loose later. With a straight cord, you can tuck it under things/put it through small conduits easier. Although I'm 100% talking out my ass right now.

I wish computers still looked like this. Next time I have money to build a new PC I'm going to put in one of these kind of cases with that keyboard and monitor (maybe use the case and put a good looking modern IPS in there).
