Just got this awesome computer! Tell me what you think.
>>
Why did keyboards stop having those squiggly cords anyway?
>>
>>56927855
Probably because people wanted more minimalist computers with less clutter, and only wanted to see the peripherals. No wires, nothing. Not really possible with the squiggly cords because a coil can't be hidden, if you stretch it to be longer, it will still be a coil and then it will just be really loose later. With a straight cord, you can tuck it under things/put it through small conduits easier. Although I'm 100% talking out my ass right now.

I think you are on the start of an incredible journey!

>Just got this awesome computer!
No you didn't.
>>
>>56927855
Because when they come out of the oven they get squiggly like your limp noodle, stretching them out would cost extra money, so they just leave it like that.

What did you think?

kek

Coiled cords are annoying. They look cool, but other cables get stuck in them easily.
>>
does it have a C compiler ?
>>
>>56928754
You didn't really have many other cables on the table like that at the time, for what it was worth, it was really useful to have a cable with variable length
>>
>>56928777
Yes, like SMALL C, but assembly is godly with those old CPUs

Lame spam trip.
>>
>>56927855
So you could pull it away further from the system without cable hell.

>minimalist
Those things weren't toys, they were loud, huge, and had a strong emphasis on expandability and peripheral usage. That's about as far from "minimalism" as you can get.

>Probably because people wanted more minimalist computers with less clutter,
But coiled cords reduce clutter by reducing slack

I wish computers still looked like this. Next time I have money to build a new PC I'm going to put in one of these kind of cases with that keyboard and monitor (maybe use the case and put a good looking modern IPS in there).
