Pretty cool. I recently passed up an Akai M9 for $25 at a thrift store since I don't know enough about the machines. Also, people said that it was crap on the internet, so I just passed.

I'm a musician. I play guitar and I'm a tone chaser. Slowly but surely I am collecting old rack gear(signaling processors, delay, chorus, reverb units etc).

I had a Teac X-7

i used it for making tape loops through an aux send...was pretty fun

one day it stoped working. the lubricants in those old machines gum up and belts can break. I frankly do not miss real time audio transfers...
