I got a laptop from a friend after he fucked BIOS update and it no longer POSTs, so I bought a replacement chip to fix it
Now here's the problem. There are no writings on the replacement chip and the person I bought the chip from did not provide what I should replace the chip with or where.
I only know that it's SOIC 8-pins chip
Literally just a chip name will help.

You don't need to replace the chip. You need to reflash it, a new one will probably be blank as well. Look for a similar soic 8 chip and google the part number till you find one that's a spi bios/eeprom

Laptops don't have user replaceable BIOS/EFI chips. At best you will have to unsolder the old chip and solder the new one in.
If you are coming to /g/ for help I highly doubt you have the requisite skills to perform such a task.

That practically means buying a working motherboard which should be fairly easy to find. Can you solder OP?

>don't have user replaceable BIOS/EFI chips
>unsolder the old chip and solder the new one
so it is replaceable...

That's what I'm basically doing
The chip is already flashed and ready to be soldered to the motherboard

Yes
Update:
From the countless datasheets I looked at, I decided to try and replace the chip labeled as SSF25V
Mobo still dead and chink EEPROM saying that both chips are blank
Is it FUBAR?
