I know it's a shitty place to post it but I'm doing this in order to learn for myself and distribute some audio files that aren't online anywhere, so I feel okay asking even if I get wew-ladded into oblivion.

I'm trying to successfully isolate the audio track of a source .mkv file (LMOE.mkv) and have ffmpeg copy it into the same folder, and it's failing miserably. The instructions on stackexchange are making my brain fry because I've just started learning the program. I can identify some strings but I can't finish the line to get a file with a size more than 0kb that's broken.

I managed to get ffmpeg to identify the source file info, which is in the pic. At the bottom of the command line is the closest line of code I could get to produce something, a 0kb empty file.

The build of ffmpeg i'm using has decode and encode codecs for flac, aac, and mp3 so that isn't the problem. Anyone able to identify what ffmpeg or my line is missing?

this makes ffmpeg search for an mp3 stream, but since there's only an ac3 stream it fails
try, instead, writing -acodec mp3 -b:a 320k to convert the ac3 stream to a 320kbps mp3 stream
this will of course result in a loss of quality since you are transcoding lossy->lossy
another option would be to simply use -acodec copy into an aac container; this would result in no loss of quality and the resulting file will most likely be able to be played on most systems, check compatibility first if you do this however

Got my first invite to my first tracker (bitGAMER) just by making a thread on /v/ "hey, can anyone invite me to bitGAMER?" and was invited within minutes. From there got into AB, BTN, and blackcats, from BTN got into PTP, and PTP into bib and MAM, been pretty happy with these things so far. Also joined GGn during open recruitment when BG went down.

Just tell them you're making it for a friend, they have special userclasses for people who make duplicate accounts. Most private trackers love it, as they think you're expanding the site sustainably, rather than trading invites.
If it goes wrong, just tell them /ptg/ told you to do it, they'll understand.
