well just like vlc it is ready to go "right out of the box". and right out of the box it is already better than mpc-hc because you have to download, install and set up madvr. There are commands you can use for mpv that let you fully utilize the software but the average user doesn't need to know them.

Im currently using Vlc on my Sony VAIO E11 running windows10 every time I use it for animus the picture gets distorted and green is this to do because of codecs and drivers? My very outdated R51 from a couple years ago ran every type of media file with no problem how can I fix this ?

I bind "a" to cycle audio tracks, "A" to cycle aspect rations.

also, arrow up/down is for volume (anything else is retarded)

also, default scroll wheel direction (wheel up --> sound down) is beyond retarded.

Better performance, and VLC is known to be prone to having trouble with video files (pic related was very common for me) If you're on Windows, I would stick to Mpc hc with CCCP or madvr, but if you use Linux I don't think you have any excuse not to use MPV plus a front end. By itself, mpv is very based around scripts and keybinds, but it's not important enough for me to have something like that so I use Smplayer ad a front end. It has a UI theme that mimics Mpc hc so I just use that.
