I have a question related to this thread. I have very little experience with hardware, so any advice will be greatly appreciated.

My current setup has one monitor, and I want to get another one. The problem is that my desk is sandwiched between two doors (see left side of pic) and I don't have space to put another monitor next to it.

So, I want to put another monitor ABOVE, like in right side of pic.

Is this a good idea? Would you guys recommend any alternatives? If it's a good idea, what kind of materials/equipment would I need to make this happen?

Thanks. The speakers are actually pretty decent (well, for PC speakers), they go for like a hundred bucks second-hand.

Scented candles aren't strong enough. I smoke and I don't like the smell after. Incense helps with that. Yea, yea, the window would probably help too, but I don't want to leave it open all the time, I'll freeze my ass off, and I have temperature sensitive pets too (a tarantula and an aquarium).

Those cups are for my favorite mints. 3 flavors. I do have plants in my room, but not on my desk. Maybe when I replace it with a bigger one I'll have one there as well, but for now a new desk isn't my first priority.

Not that guy, but I got a handful of these at Walmart and just stuck them on to the back of my desk in a line. They're great for being able to hold the cables, and unlike one long tube, you can easily just pop them open individually as necessary to route cables in different directions and you can let your mouse cable and display cable etc. come up over the desk at the right spot and such.

Best part is that they just stick on and don't fall off but should be able to be removed without any damage if need be.

Well I can't take an actual photo without moving my entire desk, but I tried to draw it.

Just imagine you're looking at the very back of the desk, and there are a bunch of these hook things attached to the back, and you can just run cables behind the legs of the desk and then through the hooks, and run the cables out of the appropriate hooks to go to the display, mouse, keyboard, etc.

If your desk doesn't have a large enough flat back piece, you can just attach them to the underside towards the back. They seem to be sticky enough that they don't fall off even if they get pulled on quite a bit.
